The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION), established by the Nigerian Navy is set to hold IMION executive course on ‘Sustainability for the Blue Economy’ as part of it’s objective to promote education, research and policy advocacy
Scheduled to take place in Lagos on 22nd and 23rd of May 2025,the course which is open to individuals drawn from government and private sectors aims at enriching participants knowledge about the maritime security.
According to a release issued in Lagos by Rear Admiral Thaddeus Udofia rtd, IMION’s Director General, the course titled: is relevant to various organisations and will enhance the knowledge and skills of their officials.
Admiral Udofia said the course is designed for C-suite executives who are in positions to develop and influence policy formulation or design implementation strategies. The course highlights include: Global and regional sustainability frameworks, marine resource management strategies, community engagement for coastal resilience,a hands-on syndicate session for applied learning and much more.
He added that IMION being a research Institute focusing on Blue Economy research is thrusting on knowledge generation, policy advocacy, engagement with industry stakeholders, and building collaborations, partnerships, and capacity.
He said to actualise the drive for knowledge and expert skills for optimizing Blue Economy resources, the Institute offers high-quality training that meets international standards, delivered by renowned subject-matter experts on the faculty.
