The National President of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN), High Chief Dr. Ndubisi George Ugo, has extended his warmest, patriotic felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all citizens of Nigeria on the momentous occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, while calling for renewed national patriotism, radical trade reforms, and a much stronger, uncompromising civic campaign against the dangerous menace of illicit drug abuse among the nation’s restive youths.
In an official Independence Day message issued directly from the association’s national headquarters located in Apapa, Lagos, Dr. Ugo described Nigeria as a blessed land of enormous, unquantifiable potential, noting correctly that its resilient private entrepreneurs, dynamic maritime sector operators, and vibrant youthful population remained the indispensable backbone critical to achieving sustainable national development.
Dr. Ugo, who formally assumed office as the historic 33rd National President of IMAN on August 1, 2026, assured the general public that the association under his progressive leadership would continue to offer total, unwavering support to federal and institutional efforts aimed at drastically improving international trade facilitation, enhancing operational port efficiency, and drastically reducing the general cost of doing business across Nigerian ports.
“At 66, we have every reason to thank God as a nation. We have weathered storms, survived as one, and are now on the path of economic renaissance,” he stated with deep spiritual gratitude.
