President Bola Tinubu has dismissed concerns about his health, saying he is healthy and ready to resume work after returning from his annual vacation.
Tinubu spoke shortly after arriving in Nigeria when asked about his vacation and concerns some Nigerians raised over his health during his absence.
Asked how he felt and whether he was ready for the next phase of his duties, the President said, “Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong.”
Tinubu also dismissed rumours surrounding his health, attributing them to the nature of political activities.
“Rumour will always be emanating from politics, but the facts remain I’m here,” he said.
The President then assured Nigerians that he was in good condition and prepared to continue his official duties.
“Healthy, sound, and ready to go,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu had been away from Nigeria since August 30 on what the Presidency described as a working vacation. He travelled to London before moving to Paris, where he held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bollore.
The Presidency had earlier said Tinubu remained in touch with developments in Nigeria and continued to direct government affairs while abroad.
His return followed an extension of the vacation by a few days, with the Presidency previously announcing that he would return to Nigeria at the weekend.
