By John Ogunsemore

Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri said he is attempting to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, to hoist Nigeria’s flag.

Omokri disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday.

He also shared a photo of himself donning a Nigerian jersey and hoisting the nation’s flag with the popular mountain in the background.

He said, “What you see behind me is the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

“It is so hard to breath due to low oxygen levels. I’ve been climbing for three days, and I may get there tomorrow to hoist Nigeria’s flag, God sparing my life at the summit.

Located in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,341 ft (5,895 m), making it the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.
