In a veiled attack on his predecessor, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, President Muhammadu Buhari, in Ondo State, yesterday, said he is only seeking a second term in office and not a third term as “some people.”
The president said this when he met with the Ondo State Council of Obas in Akure, the state capital.
The president said: “We have just finished one term and are seeking a second one. After that, the Constitution doesn’t permit any more.
“There are some who tried looking for more but they did not succeed. We should learn from their mistakes.”
His statement was revealed on Twitter, by Tolu Ogunlesi, who oversees Digital Communications in the Presidency.
He made Buhari’s statement known on his verified Twitter handle: @toluogunlesi
