Veteran Nollywood actor, Antar Laniyan has said he would walk away from any friend who brings up President Bola Tinubu for criticism while they are together.
He made the remark during an interview on Oyinmomo TV podcast while explaining how he handles political discussions in his personal relationships.
The actor said he prefers to keep such topics out of his friendships rather than allow them to dominate his time with friends.
He said, “If you are my friend and while we are together, you talk about President Bola Tinubu, I will walk away because he has not done anything to me.”
Laniyan added that even if the president did something to him, he would still avoid the conversation.
“Even if he does, I will not engage in the conversation and still walk away,” the actot stated.
Laniyan’s remark surfaces days after fellow actor, Jide Kosoko was heavily criticised on social media for his pro-Tinubu comments.
Kosoko was recently named by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State as Co-director of its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview on the Talk To B podcast, he defended the Tinubu administration amid criticism of the country’s economic situation.
Kosoko said, “People don’t queue to make money; everybody works for their money and business. Things are not as bad as some people made us understand. People make money here and there. Some people might still be unlucky, but that doesn’t mean their time will not come. It is not turn by turn. You can have your money today; my own time can come today too. I need not wait for you. It all depends on what I do and what you do.
“The situation of things now is because the country’s previous governments really did not plan towards the population that was increasing. That was the main problem. They didn’t prepare enough for the gradual population increase. If they had met these challenges, we might not have so many problems on the ground, which Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now fixing. He’s now fixing the country.”
