Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said he will never be a slave to anybody in Nigeria, but would rather soon expose the goings on in the country that has made some people think others are slaves in their own country.

He ostensibly was referring to the feud in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), between his G5 group and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubarkar camp, which has led to the G5, demanding the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

Wike who made this known at Umuobikwa in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state, the home town of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu during a leadership colloquium to mark his (Ikpeazu’s) 58th birthday, said he will in no time reveal why some people are treated like slaves in the country.

“Nigerians will hear why some people think some of us are not Nigerians; why some people think that some of us are slaves, we will never be slaves. I will never be a slave to anybody. You people will see, it will clear your eyes, and you will know what we are telling you”.

Promising to make more revelations at the appropriate time, Wike said he will soon tell the world why money that was supposed to come to Abia State, was stopped recently because Ikpeazu was supporting him.

“I will tell you soon how money that was supposed to come to Abia State for my friend to use to develop Abia State was stopped recently by those who think that they own this country because Ikpeazu didn’t support them. Because Ikpeazu supported me, they went and stopped Abia State from getting the money that they were supposed to get to develop Ariaria market”.

Wike who arrived in Abia late due to exigencies of duty was emphatic that “anybody who fights Abia State is not fighting Okezie, but the people of Abia State.

“They denied Abia and Benue States of the money that every state has gotten from the Central Bank (CBN). I told them that Ikpeazu is a quiet man; he is a born-again Christian; I am a Christian, but not a born-again Christian. I told Ikpeazu, when they slap you, you turn here. Me, when they slap me, I dont know if I will survive the other one, I will blow your head off.

“I am just giving you a hint, you will hear it soon. You see how people are wicked. People are not in office yet and they are fighting people, stopping state money. Even as we have criticized Buhari, Buhari has not stopped our money any day”.

Using the movement of soldier ants to draw the analogy of the crisis in PDP, Wike said, “You see where soldier ants were going on a straight line and you go and match the soldier ant, no be trouble you dey look for, anything that you see, you will take.

“All these things they are talking, we are just peaceful, they came to match us. Now the soldier ant has entered everywhere and now they are crying. They have not seen anything yet.

“So, I have told Ikpeazu not to be quiet and be a professor of proverbs. When we went to London, he told the person who called us for a meeting in London that the thing happening in the PDP now is like that ship carrying Jonah.

“As the ship was going down, they went to Jonah and took him out of the ship and threw him into the sea. Jonah didn’t die, the ship stabilized. So, why don’t we throw away this Jonah out so that the ship can stabilize and still that person will survive, that is what is happening?

“All I have said and I will continue to say is to give all the sections the sense of belonging. All I am saying is that, where decisions are being made, let one of our own be there when you are taking a decision, that is all. Some say that Wike is wicked. If this is wickedness, let me continue to be a wicked man”, the governor stated.
