President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will congratulate himself on the outcome of the election because he is sure of winning.
He said this to reporters after he and his wife Aisha voted in Daura.
When asked if he would accept defeat and congratulate the winner if he lost the election, he said: “I will congratulate myself. I’m going to be the winner.”
Buhari and Aisha got accredited just after 8am and voted at 8:07am.
This will be the first time that a sitting president will vote as early as 8.07am.
