A grassroots political group, POLIVOX, has thrown its weight behind Dr. Famous Sayerigha Eseduwo for the vacant Deputy Governorship position in Bayelsa State, urging Governor Douye Diri to consider him based on competence, equity and experience.

The group made the call in a congratulatory message to mark Eseduwo’s birthday, describing him as a man of integrity, selflessness and proven leadership capacity.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Officer, Johnson Ebikeme, POLIVOX said Eseduwo possesses the character, intellect and grassroots connection required to stabilize governance in the state at this critical time.

According to the group, Eseduwo’s life is defined by dedication, patriotism, transparency, honesty and unwavering commitment to public service.
“POLIVOX, a grassroots force rising to shape the future of politics, economics and society, celebrates a life wholly dedicated to humanity,” the statement said.

“From the creeks of Angalabiri Town in Sagbama Local Government Area to the highest levels of public service, Dr. Eseduwo’s journey stands as a testimony to perseverance, principle and possibility.”

The group said Bayelsa was at a historic crossroads following the death of Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, noting that the development created a vacuum in governance and disrupted the state’s political balance.

According to POLIVOX, the Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Constituency 1, which produced the late deputy governor, must retain the position in the interest of equity and fairness.

It also highlighted Eseduwo’s academic background, noting that he studied at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the University of Texas, United States, and described him as a leader groomed by knowledge and experience.
“Dr. Eseduwo is not a stopgap option. He is a prepared leader with the capacity to deliver,” the group said.

POLIVOX called on Governor Diri, party leaders and critical stakeholders to rally behind Eseduwo, stressing that his appointment would promote stability, continuity and effective governance in Bayelsa State.
