Kelechi Iheanacho has explained his decision to join Turkish second-division side Bursaspor after spending last season on loan at Scottish Premiership club Celtic.
The Nigeria international played an important role in Celtic’s domestic campaign, scoring nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
The 30-year-old has now opened up on his decision to move to Turkey, choosing Bursaspor despite his previous stint with the Scottish giants.
Iheanacho, however, made a surprise switch to Bursaspor after Celtic delayed in handing him a new contract.
The striker has made an impressive start to life in Turkey, registering 16 goals and three assists in 12 league appearances.
Iheanacho said he was not thinking about his future in the summer.
“To be fair, I don’t talk about transfers. I really try to concentrate on my football. The transfer talks were done with the agents and directors,” he told Bursaspor TV.
