Leicester City has confirmed that the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are injured heading to the Super Eagles pre-AFCON 2023 camp in Abu Dhabi.
DailySunSports sourced after the game on leicestermercury on New Year’s Day, that the duo were left out of the Foxes 4-1 thrashing of Huddersfield at the Kings Power Stadium, as they went 10 matches unbeaten.
In the post match report from the game, Leicester City informed that they would be happy to have both Iheanacho and Ndidi back as soon as possible as they were nursing injuries.
“Kele and Wilf are both injured, but they are now going to be with the international team. We’ll see if they’re going to keep them or send them back. But they are both injured, unfortunately for us.”
The Super Eagles pre-AFCON 2023 camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, opens and the Leicester City duo will be joining their teammates for the one-week training camp.
Meanwhile, Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles will square up against Burkina Faso and DR Congo in a mini-tournament while in Abu Dhabi.
