The Eze Ndigbo Mekong River Asia, HRH Uzochukwu Jerome Ezeneche has condemn a viral video where the wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Ebele Obiano was seen exchanging royal greetings meant for title men with the Igwe of Aguleri.

In the video, Mrs Obiano was seen been cheered by jubilant crowd who accompanied her to the Igwe palace where she went to pay homage with intent of declaring her senatorial ambition.

In a statement, the king of six nations said, the action by the Igwe and Mrs Obiano amounts to taboo even as he called on Ndieze to desist from attitude that was capable of riddicling NdIgbo in the Diaspora.

Furthermore, HRH Ezeneche also berated people who recorded and share such video in the social media, adding that it has devalued Igbo traditions. “I can’t just imagine a woman greeting igwe like a Chief in Igboland, not even in abroad. This brazen disregard for tradition often rubbish Igbo tradition outside Igboland.”, he said.
