Kaduna State Police Command has arrested over 60 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists and rapists, rescuing 20 victims along Zaira-Funtua highway.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Rabiu, said at the Inspector General of Police [IGP] conference in Abuja that the command sustained the fight against crimes and criminality: “Our success reflects our operational strategy.
“I have issued comprehensive operational directives to all DPOs and area commanders to reinforce the intelligence gathering mechanism, deepen community policing frameworks through sustained citizen engagement to ensure lawful and professional protection of vulnerable community.
“The Divisional Police Office, Samaru, Zaria, on patrol on November 25, 2025, swiftly moved to a scene and found an abandoned sack on the ground with 210 rounds of 7.56mm along Zaira-Funtua Expressway. Operatives of Fushin Kaa Tracking and Response Team arrested 13 suspected key members of a notorious armed robbery and handset snatching syndicate in Barnawa Shash Estate, with Kaduna metropolis.
“The Anti-Kidnapping and Kaduna Vigilance Service [KADVIS], Anchau Division, in a joint operation arrested 26 suspected kidnappers in Genzara village, Makarifi LG and recovered four locally fabricated firearms and part of ransom paid.
“Kafanchan Police Area Command arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered AK47rifles, four rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and 43 rounds of 9.mm pistol ammunition. Police in Dan Magaji División, Zaira, acted on intelligence about suspicious activities in Gwargwaje. Two suspects were arrested.

“Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested suspected kidnappers in Izzam village, Igabi LG for alleged possession of a fabricated AK47 rifle and recovered two Golf wagon cars.
Police stormed Nunbu, Bashayi Sanga LG and arrested seven suspected kidnappers.
“Also, police operatives arrested four suspects for armed robbery, rape and cybercrimes. They specialised in attacking residents and stealing phones, ATM cards, other valuables and raping juvenile victims and married women.
“Operatives at Dan Magaji Division intercepted three suspected traffickers and rescued 17 children for child trafficking at the Dan Magaji flyover, Zaira. The children were allegedly being prepared for trafficking to Abuja and other parts of the country.
“Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect at Rarau-Karau, Giwa LG. He was found in possession of a brand new AK47 rifle and 200 rounds of 7.82mm live ammunition allegedly on his way to supply bandits operating in the region. The suspect confessed to having transported AK47 rifles to Kidandan.”
