IGP confab: How police arrested 45 suspected kidnappers, robbers –Benue CP

Benue  State Police  Command has arrested over  45   suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and cultists. Commissioner of Police,  Mr. Ifeanyi  Emenari, told IGP conference in Abuja: “We have declared war  against criminals. I want to give kudos to my officers for applying professionalism.

“Operatives arrested a 34-year-old suspected armed robber in Makurdi who snatched a Toyota Camry  LE  Reg YAB 808 CF red in colour. It was  snatched in Abuja but intercepted at  Agan Tollgate and recovered. A 38-year-old suspected mastermind of the majority  of killings in Dauda, Guma LGA, was arrested. He was involved in criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide cases.

“Officers of Police  Division, Ogoli, mobilised a patrol team and detectives to the scene, where they recovered seven expended shells of 7. 62mm ammunition and a deceased corpse at the scene of the crime. Also, Operation  Restore  Peace, raided suspected bandits’ hideout in Sankara and arrested 48 suspects.

“Police Division  Orokam officers on patrol along Orokam/Owukpa Road  rescued victims kidnapped along the River  Enumabia bank. The kidnappers demanded N5 million ransom and  abandoned the victims .

“A  joint operation team of police and military at the ongoing operation in Sankara, arrested three suspects in connection with the attack on tactical  teams at the Agu Centre in Katsina/Ala LGA . Also,  Police Division, Otukpo, arrested two suspects in possession of an English-made single barrel  pump action.

“Police in Konshisha arrested two suspected cultist members of Black Skin cult and recovered one black axe, one hammer, some quantities of cannabis and N17,000. Police  Tactical  Team  in Sankara raided  some  bandits’  hideout  within Katsina /Ala LGA and arrested six suspects.”
