Ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State, President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, has been endorsed as the most suitable candidate by the Lagos State Igbo Youth Organisations (LASIYO).

LASIYO President General, Obioma Andrew; Vice President, Bellarmine Chiemezie; and Secretary General, Chukwuemeka Francis, in a statement yesterday, said their endorsement stemmed from Tinubu’s love for education and skills empowerment initiatives over the years.

The statement read in part:
“After conducting a thorough evaluation of Seyi Tinubu’s vision, leadership qualities, and commitment to Lagos State residents, LASIYO is confident in his ability to drive positive change and progress.

“His initiatives in education and skills development have empowered over 1,000 youths, while his infrastructure development plans aim to improve the state’s transportation network and enhance economic growth by 20%.

“Seyi Tinubu’s plans for education and skills development, infrastructure development, and healthcare and social services align with LASIYO’s goals and aspirations.

“Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment, economic development, and promoting unity and progress resonates deeply with LASIYO’s values. His leadership style, which emphasises inclusivity, transparency, and accountability, is in line with LASIYO’s principles.

“The Lagos State Igbo Youth Organisation is excited to endorse Seyi Tinubu, a visionary leader who shares our commitment to the welfare and progress of Lagos State residents,” said Obioma Andrew, President of LASIYO.

“We believe he has the leadership qualities and expertise necessary to address the challenges facing our community.”

The endorsement ceremony took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was attended by LASIYO members, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
