The Igbo community in Lagos, at the weekend, joined the Arewa community in the state, in endorsing Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) as well as bestowed on him the prestigious title of “Dike Di Ora Nma 1” of Lagos State.

The Arewa community led by its traditional ruler, Alhaji Sani Kabiru, the Seriki Hausawa of Arewa Community and Chairman of Arewa Traditional Rulers in Lagos State has similarly turbaned Senator Adeola as the “Seriki Yakin Tafida” of Lagos State alongside all the other Seriki Hausawas of major towns of Lagos State.

The Eze Ndigbo of Lagos state, Eze Uchechukwu Nwanchukwu while addressing other Eze Ndigbos of various communities in Lagos, particularly those from Lagos West senatorial district said the title bestowed on him translated to “The Beloved Powerful Man of the Society” as well as the staff of office symbolises their backing him to wade off any opposition to his re-election to the Senate to represent Lagos West again and continue his effective representation and empowerment of constituents.

“All the Ezes and the multitude of Ndigbo you see in this gathering are here on their volition as I have no power to compel them. We have endorse you to be our Senator again as we can attest to your vocal contributions on the floor of the Senate as well as your empowerment of your constituents with income generating equipment. We want you to continue your good work and effective representation” he stated. The traditional ruler said for his earlier election to the Senate, in 2015, four years ago, the Igbo did not gather like this to endorse him and stressed that for the 2019 election, they are now with him as one of their chiefs; to protect their interest in Lagos and at the National Assembly.

He said: “I am calling on all Igbo in Lagos West to vote for the senator in the coming election. He has identified with Ndigbo in Lagos and his title is a seal of his being one of us,) henceforth.”
