Awka, Anambra State Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to education, Ichie IG Aguowo, the Founder and Chairman of the IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation, proudly announced on Monday, August 7, 2023, the granting of scholarships to a notable count of ninety-two (92) students hailing from secondary and tertiary institutions.
Dubbed the “Lifetime Educational Benefit,” this groundbreaking scholarship initiative guarantees complete coverage of educational expenses for the beneficiaries, spanning from their current academic levels right through to their final year of tertiary education. Additionally, each beneficiary will also be granted access to comprehensive healthcare benefits.
The selection process for these scholarships, conducted through a rigorous examination, was overseen by the distinguished Best Brain Contest, operating under the patronage of the IG Aguowo Foundation. The event, hosted at the prestigious Prof Kenneth Dike Library in Awka, Anambra State, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students spanning South Eastern Nigeria, as well as representing the West, North, and South South regions.
Hon Frank Igbojindu (Akpoazaa), the CEO of Best Brain Contest, conveyed his admiration for Ichie IG Aguowo’s extraordinary dedication to education while speaking to the press. He emphasized the rarity of such altruistic endeavors devoid of political interests, particularly within Anambra State. The act of bestowing extensive scholarships upon a significant number exceeding three hundred and fifty (350) students, inclusive of complete tertiary education and holistic healthcare benefits, stands as a testament to Ichie IG Aguowo’s steadfast commitment to humanitarian causes.
The induction ceremony for the ninety-two (92) beneficiaries into the foundation’s esteemed scholarship program is scheduled to take place on September 8, 2023, at the illustrious Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka. Upon their enrollment, they will seamlessly integrate with the existing cohort of two hundred and fifty-five (255) beneficiaries who are already reaping the rewards of the IG Aguowo Foundation Scholarship scheme.
