The Director General of the International Forum for Peace & Diplomacy (IFPD), Ambassador Adeniran Michael Timothy, participated in a high-level briefing session organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) with members of the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja.
The briefing, held ahead of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), provided an important platform for diplomats and stakeholders to engage on the role of responsible communication in strengthening international cooperation, social cohesion, good governance and sustainable development.
The 2026 World Public Relations Forum, themed “Responsible Communication – The Voice of the World,” is expected to bring together global communication leaders, policymakers, diplomats, academics, business leaders and other stakeholders in Abuja. The forum will also address emerging challenges including misinformation, artificial intelligence, digital communication, peacebuilding and conflict resolution. (The Nigerian Observer)
Amb. Adeniran Michael Timothy’s participation further reflects IFPD’s commitment to promoting peace diplomacy, responsible communication and constructive engagement among nations and institutions.
Speaking on the significance of the engagement, the IFPD DG noted that effective communication remains an essential instrument of modern diplomacy, particularly in building trust, preventing conflicts and strengthening relationships between nations and peoples.
IFPD commends the leadership of the NIPR for creating a platform that brings together the diplomatic community and communication professionals in preparation for this significant global gathering.
The organisation looks forward to contributing meaningfully to conversations around peace, diplomacy, responsible communication and sustainable development as Nigeria prepares to welcome the world to Abuja for WPRF 2026.
