Chief Lateef Oyelade GRA, Ring Road, Ibadan, is wearing a fresh and modern outlook as massive infrastructural upgrades reshape the estate ahead of the commissioning of the Afia Apartments and Afia Court scheduled for Wednesday, 24 December 2025.
The once-quiet GRA has become a hive of construction activity, with extensive laying of high-quality interlocking paving stone roads currently underway across major access routes. The project marks a major shift from conventional asphalt roads and signals a renewed commitment to durability, efficient drainage, and enhanced aesthetics within the estate.
Residents and visitors have watched with keen interest as construction teams work round the clock to deliver the road network, which is expected to significantly improve vehicular flow and pedestrian safety while elevating the overall visual appeal of the neighbourhood.
Findings revealed that the road construction is strategically designed to complement the Afia Apartments and Afia Court developments, two high-end residential projects spearheaded by Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem, MCIArb, MCIOB, MCABE, Chief Executive Officer of Afia Group and Mogaji of the Adanla family of Ibadan.
The new road network is expected to provide seamless access and a befitting entrance to the luxury developments, reinforcing the premium standards promised to residents and investors.
Speaking on the vision behind the transformation, Engr Karheem, who is also the Turaki Adinni of Oyo State, Wakil Faidi Tijaniya of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, and Giwa Adinni of Offa Land, said the project goes beyond aesthetics.
“The goal has always been to build an environment that is functional, sustainable and visually appealing. The paving stone roads are central to that vision, ensuring that the infrastructure aligns with the quality and prestige of developments like Afia Apartments and Afia Court,” he said.
He added that the upgrades are part of a broader plan to create a holistic and premium living experience within the GRA.
Beyond road construction, further improvements such as enhanced street lighting, landscaping, and general environmental upgrades are also expected to follow, reinforcing the ongoing transformation of the estate.
As the commissioning date draws closer, excitement continues to build within Chief Lateef Oyelade GRA, not only over the unveiling of the new buildings but also the emergence of a revitalised and modern community.
The commissioning ceremony itself is expected to be colourful and glamorous, with several top dignitaries billed to attend.
