The Council of Mogajis of the Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiatives (ICPI), has commended the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, for intensifying efforts to combat cybercrime in the South-West.

The President of the Mogajis, Asimiyu Adepoju Ariori, made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the acting Director of the EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Directorate, ACE I Hauwa Garba Ringim.

During the visit, Ariori praised the EFCC’s recent sting operations in Ogun State, which led to the arrest of 93 internet fraud suspects in separate raids.

He said the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, had granted approval for the Mogajis to support the EFCC in its anti-cybercrime campaign.

“The EFCC under Olukoyede has left no stone unturned in tackling cybercrime.

“We are ready to lend our voices, support and time in collaborating with the commission to rid Ibadan and the Southwest of internet fraud,” Ariori said.

He also pledged the Mogajis’ commitment to timely sharing of credible information on fraudulent activities within Ibadan communities.
