A faction of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State, led by Venatius Ikem has welcomed the Ibadan Federal High Court judgment on the crisis in the party, saying it’s victory for the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria.

The Ibadan division of the Federal High Court recently nullified the convention that produced the Saminu Turaki-led national executive of the party.

The Publicity Secretary of the faction, Mike Ojisi, in a statement made available to journalists in Calabar also called on members of the party in the state to respect the judgment.

“This judgment is a significant victory for the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria.

“It underscores the importance of adhering to court orders and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We commend the court’s decision and urge all members of the PDP in Cross River State to respect the judgment.

“We call on all PDP members in Cross River State to unite behind the Abdulrahman-led Caretaker Committee as well as the party’s state Chairman, Barr. Venatius Ikem and work towards rebuilding and repositioning the party for future successes.

“Together, we can build a stronger, more united, and more prosperous PDP in

Cross River State,” he said.
