I was paid to fake disability during church miracle – Yemi Solade

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he once accepted money to pretend to have a physical disability during a staged church miracle service while he was still a student

Solade made the disclosure in an interview with Feel Right News TV, recalling an incident that occurred years before he became a recognised actor.

The veteran actor said he was recruited to act as a cripple during the service and was paid for his participation.

“I have been used for a miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student,” Solade said.

He explained that the incident happened during his early years, when he had not yet established himself in Nollywood.

According to the actor, his involvement was purely for payment, and he did not identify the church or the people who organised the staged miracle.

Solade also declined to reveal the identities of those involved, saying they were still alive.

“The people involved are still alive; I just don’t want to mention names,” he said.

His account has renewed attention on claims of staged miracles in religious settings, particularly allegations that individuals are sometimes recruited to create the appearance of supernatural healings.

However, Solade’s disclosure was a personal account of an incident he said he participated in as a student and did not identify the church, ministers or other individuals involved.
