From Uchenna Inya, Abakaliki
Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has said that he never believed he would reach the level he is at today.
He stated this at St Emmanuel Catholic Church, Edukwuachi, in Izzi Local Government Area of the state, which he built for the people of the area.
The multi-million-naira church buildings were handed over to the Catholic Church in the state by the Governor on Sunday.
The dedication was performed on Tuesday by the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Chukwu.
The buildings comprise a gigantic church hall and a storey parsonage.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the dedication, the Governor said the church was a token of his gratitude to God for taking him to the present point in life, which he never believed he would attain.
He noted that he started the buildings when he was the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and had almost completed them then.
“You can see that I’m not actually celebrating a birthday, but I am dedicating a church to thank God Almighty for all he has done for me in my life.
“I never believed that I would be where I am today.
“I am very grateful to God, and that’s why you can see this fine edifice we built for God,” he said.
