Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and skincare entrepreneur, Sophia Williams, has revealed that her decision to venture into movie production was driven by a desire to use storytelling to educate and entertain audiences.
Williams, a mother of three, began her acting career with the Nollywood film Colours of Emotion before gaining wider recognition for her performance alongside veteran actors Olu Jacobs and Patience Ozokwor in the acclaimed film Soul on Fire.
Speaking with Saturday Sun, the actress said she had always envisioned herself taking on a bigger role in the film industry rather than remaining solely an actress.
“Being a movie producer is something I have always wanted to do. I never wanted to be just a regular actress. I wanted to have a platform where I could educate people through my stories. I am also a scriptwriter, and I write the screenplays for all my movies,” she said.
According to Williams, producing her own films has given her greater creative freedom and the opportunity to communicate meaningful messages through entertainment.
“Making films gives me an edge to educate and entertain people. I have produced over 30 movies, and more are still coming,” she added.

Despite her passion for acting, Williams said there are certain roles she would not accept, regardless of the financial reward.
“I can’t play any role that involves sex and nudity,” she stated.
Asked whether she would consider liposuction, a cosmetic procedure embraced by some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry, Williams said she had not undergone it but was not ruling it out, “I haven’t done that yet, but maybe I will in the future,” she stated.
Reflecting on her career and personal journey, Williams said she has no regrets about the choices she has made.
“I have no regrets. Everything that happens in life is always a lesson,” she said.
The actress, who is also the founder of Skinclinicplus, attributed her glowing complexion to maintaining a consistent skincare routine.
“I don’t compromise my skincare routine with Skinclinicplus skincare products. That is my brand,” she said.
Williams said she regularly uses snail mucin to help maintain youthful-looking, hydrated skin and promote a radiant complexion. She also highlighted her rice face toner, which she said helps cleanse and hydrate the skin while improving its texture.
According to her, the products are designed to brighten dull-looking skin, improve texture and support overall skin health.
“I don’t joke with my skincare routine,” she added.
