The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State and Special Security and consultant to the state government, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, yesterday, said he did not provoke shootings in Ekoli Edda, Afikpo South local government area of the state.
His younger was alleggedly killed by political thugs who burnt down in his houses and vehicle.
A Policeman, and a youth leader, were also killed during the fracas between two rivla thug group.
Emegha described as wicked, falsehood, and mischievous, the reports in some sections of the media that he was blowing siren,and shooting sporadically which provoked the killings.
He wondered why he was linked to the shootings when he was with traditional rulers who paid him a visit to congratulate him on the award given to him by Governor Dave Umahi when armed men started shooting and destroying things.
He opined that the traditional rulers have absolved him of the shootings before Governor Umahi, and challenged journalists to always cross-check their information before dishing them out to the public, and expressed dismay over the reports.
“What people don’t know is that I was with traditional rulers who came to congratulate me on the recent award His Excellency the Governor gave me when some persons in the community started shooting.
“As a peaceful person and a man under grace, I ordered security personnel not to respond to the shootings because it will cause many things and they obeyed me.
“At what point did I shoot, was I blowing any siren?,” he said.
