Okechukwu Laura Chinenye, popularly known as Laura Dice, is a popular TikTok creator with a large following. She’s known for her Amapiano sounds, stylish outfit transitions, and entertaining content. Her TikTok profile showcases her creativity, often featuring Amapiano music: Sharing her unique sounds, showcasing her musical genius, performing stylish outfit transitions and providing inspiration for her followers.
Her comedy skits, collaborating with other creators like Pablo Don for hilarious moments and fun content are usually engaging and mind-blowing.
With over 16,800 likes on one of her Amapiano videos, she is intriguing and inspires curiosity about what makes her tick.
On a first meeting, she exudes a lot of spirituality, judging by her fire-brand prayers at a Christian camp recently on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
On another note, she radiates elegance and panache that pull you in, wanting to know who she really is as a person.
Talking with Sunday Sun, soft-spoken Laura spoke of her past, present and future, giving a glimpse of who she really is.
How do people perceive you generally?
Some ask if I’m a Nigerian and if I’m a model.
So what do you really do?
I’m just focusing on content creation and influencing. I am an influencer for brands. I have worked with Lush Hair, Morning Fresh and some personal entrepreneurs to promote their products.
Now that you have finished your NYSC, what’s next?
I just want to go for my master’s degree abroad. Now, I don’t know what God has in store for me. Right now, I work with some brands. The owners and entrepreneurs reach out to me to be an Influencer for their brands and I put such brands on TikTok. I have 400,000 followers on TikTok already.
What did you study in school?
I studied Theatre Arts, at the University of Calabar.
Have you taken a shot at acting before?
I just do short YouTube skits. I have not really acted professionally, except for drama productions that we used to do in the theatre. Now that I’m done with school, I would like to be an actor.
How about modelling?
People reach out to me on TikTok to start a career as a model. That I can be the favourite of brands. Someone said I should send him my details for the modelling job. He said I needed to purchase the form. That’s the main reason I came to camp to pray, to know if I should go ahead with that suggestion. I put God first before I embark on any project.
Why not try beauty pageants?
Hmmm! I don’t think I have what it takes to go for that. It sounds scary. I don’t think I can do it.
What kind of fashion do you like?
I don’t really have a particular kind of fashion. But I just like classy fashion, nothing too extra.
How was life growing up?
I grew up in Lagos with my parents in Ikotun. Life was good. Presently, I stay with my elder sister on the Island. I didn’t come from a poor home. My dad was well-to-do as at that time, not now that things are getting difficult. Growing up was good.
Who would you say is your role model in Nollywood?
I like Uche Montana. I just feel that she’s young and doing well for herself. I like her acting a lot.
Has anyone told you that you have a striking resemblance with Chika Ike?
Yes. People also stop me to ask if I’m related to Chika Ike; they also ask if I’m related to Angela Okorie. But I’m not related to them.
How about modelling of these brands?
I do the modelling and promote brands on my Tik Tok. When brands reach out to me for promotion, then I post on my tik tok. I have a large following, 400,000 followers on Tik Tok.
With your pretty looks, how do you handle male admirers?
They are plenty. I’m used to the toasting but it’s not everybody I give audience. It’s not everyone I respond to. I don’t answer roadside toasters.
So are you in a relationship at the moment?
I don’t have any relationship now. I take care of myself at the moment with the proceeds I get from Tik Tok and as an influencer. I’m not in a relationship right now because I’m focusing on building myself and becoming the best version of me first.
Where would you say is your favourite holiday spot?
I’d love to go to France, Paris for a holiday because I’d like to see the Eiffel Tower and experience the beauty and romance of the city.
Do you have any favourite food?
I don’t necessarily have a favourite food, I just enjoy trying different meals depending on my mood.
What are your likes and dislikes?
Talking of my likes, I like honesty, peace, ambition, and good communication. And I dislike lies, pride, and unnecessary drama.
What kind of man do you hope to marry?
In the future, I’d love to marry a man who is tall, God-fearing, kind, understanding, and wealthy.
