Victor Osimhen stood up and told his fellow Super Eagles teammates that he is proud of how they fought hard for them to give Nigerians hope again when almost all was lost in their qualification battle to the 2026 World Cup.
His address in the dressing room was immediately after the penalty shootout loss to DR Congo in a World Cup Playoffs final in Rabat, Morocco.
SCORENigeria learnt that it was a very passionate speech by Osimhen and he clearly exonerated the players and coaches of any blame for the failure to qualify for a second straight World Cup.

“He made it very clear that the players and coaches were not to blame and that Nigerians should know who to hold accountable for the disaster,” a source said.
“He said the right things were not done at the right time.”
