HYPPADEC Warns Staff Against Sharp Practices In the Discharge of their Duties

In view of the high level corruption ravaging agencies and and commissions in the country, the Managing Director of the newly established Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa has issued a stem warning to Staff of the commission to desist from any sharp practice in the discharge of the duties.
The Managing Director specifically urged the Staff to make prudence, transparency and accountability their watchword in the discharge of their duties in other to enable the young commission grow and deliver the needed services to the people.
Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa who gave the warning at the opening of a training workshop for the Staff on Fiscal Due Process in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) in Minna, the Niger state capital on Tuesday, however assured the Staff of the commission of what he called sustained training and retraining to enhance their productivity for optimal service delivery.
Yelwa disclosed that about 90 of the commission’s senior management staff are participating in the training with the theme; Promoting Ethics, Compliance and Integrity in Public Service, which is aimed at capacity building, and to enhance effective and efficient service delivery.
He explained that the training workshop which is being coordinated by the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria Consultancy Services limited will provide opportunity for performance evaluation, and to be able adhere strictly to the commission guiding laws and principles in planning and execution of its core mandates.
Earlier in his welcome address, the HYPPADEC Director Finance and Administration, Mallam Haruna Jimoh said that the Commission is committed to ensuring human resources development for optimal results.
The workshop Coordinator, Aliyu Dalha Kankia of the ABU Zaria while given the Overview of the workshop, commended the commission for organizing the training which he said would go a long way in updating the Staff knowledge and help them to remain focus in carrying their duties.
