HYPPADEC inspect completed projects for evaluation in Kebbi

The National Hydro Power Producing Area Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has toured many communities in Kebbi State where the agency’s intervened in the areas of education,water and security as part of it’s Management Post -Evaluation exercise.
   Some  of the Local Government Areas visited by the Commission where it various interventions were domiciled including Ngaski, Yauri,Shanga, Argungu, Augie, Gwandu, Aliero,Jega, Maiyama Kalgo,Bunza and Dandi LGA respectively.
  While speaking to newsmen after the inspected the  facilitates,, Head of Press and Public Affairs of HYPPADEC, Mallam Nura Tanko Wakili explained that the Commission’s teams, including Department of planning, Research and Statistics  were in the state under the instructions of the Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq -Yelwa to assess the impact of the projects on the communities and the challenges facing by the beneficiaries.
 According to him, ‘”what we are doing here is what we call Management Post -Evaluation and we are in Kebbi  base on the instructions of the HYPPADEC Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq -Yelwa. The essence of this is for us to go round to see all the completed projects which have already been put in use in the respective Communities where they were executed.
  ‘We want to see the viability of these projects as well as to interact with the beneficiaries to know the efforts they are putting in place to ensure the maintenance of these projects for sustainability “.
  Wakili,also explained that,the Commission’s delegates,who have been to various locations where they constructed three classrooms, borehole, solar streets light, were mandated to find out issues that might pose challenges to the host Communities where they have their interventions.
  “And the feedback we are getting from the beneficiaries are quite encouraging because they were applauding the Commission’s interventions, telling us that our efforts in education sector has continue to increase enrolment of girls child and other pupils in school especially. In other areas like provisions of boreholes, solar light, they  appreciated the Commission for the timely interventions”.
 Earlier,the Assistant Director, Department of Planning, Research and Statistics of HYPPADEC,Mr. Mustapha Jidauna Davou,who spoke on behalf of the Directorate of the unit, explained that after the evaluation exercise,they would compiled the data,the reports gathered from the host Communities,forwarded it to the management for further actions and policies implementation.
The Community leader of Gwade village,Bunza LGA of Kebbi State,Alhaji Abdullahi Sambo ,Amirul Gwade commended the Commission for constructed three blocks of classrooms in his community, stressed that enrolment of pupils especially girls child have increased.
  Also, Mallam Umar Kurdu Bunza, who spoke on behalf of Bunza Waje Model Primary school,noted that the completed of the classrooms by the Commission has further increased the enrolment of pupils in the community.
Also, a Community leader of Ujariyo village in Birnin Kebbi LGA,Alhaji Muhammed Bello Rafin Ujariyo appreciated the efforts of the Commission for constructed classrooms at Ujariyo Primary school,stressed that the community would constitute committee that would be protecting the facilities and maintenance.
