Famous Nigerian entertainers and identical twins, Soltwins, whose real names are Jose and Jesse Anyanwu, have grabbed the spotlights in the last few years. Despite studying different dimensions of sciences at the tertiary level of education level, they are deeply consumed by passion for arts.

Soltwins are the first born of four siblings. They hail from Umueze Chokoneze Ezinihitte Mbaise in Imo State, where they had all their education. They are currently observing the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). However, it has not stop entertaining millions of their fans in Nigeria and across the world.

As individual human being, Soltwins exhibit different traits but are bound and closely knitted in exploring their God-given talents. They are content creators, pranksters, artistes and fashion influencers. Earlier in the pursuit of their ambition, they met a brick wall with their disciplinarian father, a pharmacist, who did not want them exposed to undue influences, as against their mum, who has always been available to lend her support.

Soltwins started their acting career in 2015, just after their secondary education. After meeting Nollywood legends such as the late John Okafor, Francis Odega, Eniola Badmus, and Ruby Ojiakor, on a movie set, their determination to become movie stars burned even deeper. They went on to feature in Nollywood movies: Book of Evil, Too Much Money and White Poison. They started content creation and modelling endeavours afterwards and have been making giant strides since then, as education did not give them much time to attend auditions as possible. The fascinating thing about their content is the organic nature of the prank they play in their content. From 2020, when they started full-time, they have garnered almost 3million followers on Instagram and TikTok.

“We started our acting carrier in 2015 after sitting for our WAEC and NECO in 2014 in Ahaiwe National Secondary School Akpodim Mbaise and Chokoneze Secondary Technical School in Chokeneze Mbaise. So, our friend Fanta Charles took us to the first location where we first saw celebrity actors like Late John Okafor Aka MR IBU, Francis Odega, Eniola Badmus, and Ruby Ojiakor, but we couldn’t feature in the movie because it was just our first time, even at that we were super excited we took some pictures with the artist and left.

“So from there, we made some contact and started going for auditions and movie set and we were opportune to get featured in some movies too titled BOOK OF EVIL, TOO MUCH MONEY, WHITE POISON, etc. But we were not playing major roles yet we only did extras and most times production assistant in a movie like LIVING IN BONDAGE BREAKING FREE. We got admission into the university in 2016  and we couldn’t continue with the movie shoots and audition due to our studies.

“We started using our phones to shoot and edit and post them online, where we met our other friends who are content creators too in same school so we all started together, our first viral video was from tiktok it’s a video I pranked my twin pretending to deliberately snub him, before then we had other videos too doing well on Tiktok, even though we became serious with TikTok in September 2020, when we created our new social media accounts.

“Before then we do some model shoot too but we became serious more on our content creation. We love fashion too, and if we didn’t do content, we will be models. We really love entertainment to the point that we recorded some songs in the studio then because we love to sing we sang in chapel during our secondary school days at a tender age. In fact, we’ve been singing before we began content creation, but thank God for social media, TikTok especially. God used the platform to make it easy for us to be popular. We will say we are content creators, artists, pranksters to my twin brother, and lover of fashion too. Call us Jack of all trades LOL”.

Soltwins recently released their latest single titled ‘JIDE’. The track has so far recorded over 13,000 sounds on TikTok, where they have 2.5million followers.

”We just released a single titled JIDE, and we plan on dropping more songs with time. When we read comments on our posts I can tell they like how my twin brother gets on my nerves because it makes them laugh so much and asking for more pranks, not just that they enjoy when we shoot other contents together, and they love our new song titled JIDE because 13k plus people already use the sound on TikTok and etc,” said Jose and Jesse
Anyanwu.
