How Osinuga Oriola is redefining African digital media through NaijaEverything

Nigerian digital entrepreneur and influencer Osinuga Oriola, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NaijaEverything, is scaling his platform to meet the demand for authentic, youth-focused content and creative entrepreneurship across Africa.

What started in 2013 as a personal, self-built blog has transformed into a dynamic multi-platform media powerhouse spanning music, fashion, comedy, and celebrity news.

Today, NaijaEverything boasts over 1 million Instagram followers, a business-verified TikTok channel, and a massive Snapchat footprint, where its Spotlight content recently generated over 80 million views in a single month.

Reflecting on the early days, Oriola admits the journey required serious grit.

”A lot of people didn’t take the movement seriously back then—even people close to me. In 2015, many didn’t fully grasp the power of the internet yet,” Oriola shared. “But through perseverance, I was able to take NaijaEverything to greater heights.”

A major driver of his platform’s growth has been Oriola’s success as a top Snapchat lens creator with over 250,000 followers. His viral augmented-reality lens, which allows users to virtually wear traditional Nigerian native attire, quickly became a crowd favorite.

”I got into lens creation to bring people joy. My filters either make people happy or enhance their beauty,” he explained. “I listen to the audience. I know what they’re passionate about, and I deliver content that matches their energy.”

That relentless focus on community trust is what keeps the platform grounded. “Authenticity is non-negotiable,” Oriola emphasized. “I built NaijaEverything because I genuinely love Nigerian culture. Trends come and go, so before jumping on anything, I always ask if it fits our voice first.”

Beyond media management and viral lenses, Oriola occasionally drops music “just for fun.” His songs frequently highlight the struggles of Nigerian youth striving to overcome poverty—a message of hope and resilience that deeply resonates with his audience.

This high level of trust extends to commercial partnerships as well. “Brands know they have a partner they can count on to take their product to the next level—someone with 100% credibility,” Oriola stated.

Looking to the future, the mediapreneur has plans for the brand’s evolution.

”In five years, I want NaijaEverything to be much more than a page for gist. I’m aiming for original programming, major industry collaborations, and our own signature shows. Most importantly, I want to keep spotlighting rising talent. I want to show young people that you can start from nothing, stay consistent, and build something real, ” Oriola said.
