The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that he experienced a life-threatening ordeal seven years ago.
Adeboye, who shared his testimony at the annual Special Holy Ghost Service, themed “Joy Unspeakable”, disclosed that he collapsed in Ilesha after his body underwent a complete breakdown due to bad roads.
The popular clergyman was involved in an evangelism program at the time.
According to him, for the first time, he spent Christmas in his sick bed as a result of the health scare.
Adeboye said he was airlifted to the camp for the program after he broke down and met with opposition as some individuals tried to prevent the helicopter from taking off.
“Seven years ago, during this same program, my body broke down completely due to the terrible road conditions.
“For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil was certain he had finally got me.
“I collapsed in Ilesha, and to bring me back to the camp, we had to charter a helicopter. I was too weak to travel by road—if I had, I would not have made it”.
“Seven years later, I am still here! I want you to thank God for sparing my life”, Adeboye recalled.
