Nigerian artist Skales has given a dramatic testimony on how his fortunes changed in 2025, stating that a viral clip starring Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal marked a turning point in his career.
The artist revealed the experience at a testimony session at Harvesters Church, describing 2025 as the most spiritually hard year of his life.
According to Skales, he began the year with fervent prayers and fasting, penning down seven specific prayer requests and begging God for a breakthrough in the face of public mockery and professional insecurity.
Skales told the congregation that all seven prayer points were answered in a single day, with one moment standing out above the rest.
He explained that a short viral clip of teenage football star Lamine Yamal dancing to his 2015 hit song Shake Body reignited interest in his music and sparked a wave of renewed attention across social media.
The video quickly spread online, drawing reactions from fans and industry observers, and marking what Skales described as a dramatic career resurgence.

The renewed buzz around his music later earned him invitations to high-profile events, including celebrations linked to Barcelona’s Copa del Rey triumph, where he performed.
Speaking further, Skales said the experience reaffirmed his faith and reminded him of the power of divine timing.
“Earlier this year, I prayed and fasted like never before because people were laughing at my career,” he said. “I wrote down seven prayer points, and all of them happened in one day. The one that changed my life was when a kid in Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, danced to my song and it went viral.”
The singer has since released a tribute track inspired by the moment, titled Dance Like Lamine Yamal, describing the experience as proof that a single moment can redefine years of struggle.
