Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of Iran known for his role in Tehran’s nuclear defiance, has been reported dead following airstrikes inside the country on Saturday.
Israeli outlet Ma’ariv, quoted by the NY Post, reported that Ahmadinejad was under house arrest at the time and was killed in a targeted strike on his home.
Ahmadinejad was also confirmed dead by Isreali War Room, who quoted Iranian media.
“Former president of Iran’s Islamist Terror Regime, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was eliminated,” the report stated.
It added that the former Iranian leader was sanctioned by the US in 2023 for involvement in the wrongful detention of Americans.
