The world is currently being ruled by various applications that have become major drivers of most countries’ economies.
From schools, hospitals, media and everyday life, apps have become essential parts of modern existence and cannot be under-estimated because they are known to save cost as well as boost growth and production of organisations and nations.
Today, most organisations are looking for newer apps that would further reduce their operational cost and increase profits.
Recently, some four apps were developed by ATB Techsoft Solutions Limited, an information technology and software development company, to cater for different tiers of the economy.
The company, which has spent the last seven years developing several software systems through evaluation, design, planning, developing and testing, has introduced Finultimate, Ultisure, Eduware and Ultiflux.
These apps address gaps in sectors like insurance, education and enterprise resource planning (ERP) for any organisation, and they are delivered as a cloud offering leveraging on the Microsoft Azure cloud service.
According to the CEO, ATB Techsoft Solutions, Mr. Abiodun Atobatele, these solutions would revolutionise the software market space in Nigeria, especially at this point in the country’s economic stagnation.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved with these solutions we are releasing to the market, which stand out among any currently in the market. These solutions are a result of seven years of dedication, hard work, research and investmentm which could not have been achieved without our software architects, who can be ranked among the smartest people in the world.
“What we have done is to offer software solutions of higher standard and functionality to the market, as against what most organisations are purchasing offshore, and at a much lower cost. This means Nigerian organisations do not have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to procure software abroad.
“According to the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion’s official estimate, organisations in Nigeria spend over $1 billion annually to procure software. Our unique solutions are coming at such a time to save Nigerian businesses the demand for forex.
“The only way we can create thousands of technology jobs in Nigeria is when the government enforces existing laws and regulations on local content that make it compulsory for companies to buy software developed in Nigeria by Nigerians,” he said.
Atobale noted that Microsoft’s contribution was anchored on the fact that ATB was a gold partner and has leveraged on its cloud solution as well as achieved more things through collaboration. He said all the solutions were scalable and could be renewed annually. He also noted that no software company in Africa, except ATB, has an app to automate financial processes.
Chief software srchitect, ATB Techsoft Solutions, Patrick Anaih, during the products demostration, said, “Finultimate is our ERP solution that offers comprehensive portfolio of applications designed for organisations of any size to improve operational effectiveness, profitability, product innovation, distribution and delivery channel growth, customer relationships and enterprise information management.” Sinilarly, Ultisure is software for insurance policy administration, while Eduware is a school management system application that can be used by institutions of any level to handle administrative and academic activities with ease and accuracy.
“Ultiflux is a software that reduces work complexity, improves data capture and increases control through workflow and process automation that helps address these challenges. Ultiflux helps customers drive down cost and control the risk of process delays. Ultiflux workflow management can promote adherence to agreed processes and avoid process delays. Ultiflux is a highly flexible and configurable business process automation system,” he said.

More Nigerians to benefit from Airtel’s CSR

The premiere would serve as a platform to promote the culture of giving, self-sacrifice, love and charity among Nigerians.
Airtel’s “Touching Lives” is an initiative designed to offer practical relief, succour, hope, opportunities and credible platforms to liberate and empower underprivileged, disadvantaged individuals, families and communities in Nigeria.
Speaking at the launch of Touching Lives, Season 3, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, said the telco rolled out the third edition of the programme based on the success recorded with the first and second seasons.
According to him, Airtel believes that, to be a great company, it must be a good company and “we are very much committed to earning our social license, the love and acceptance of the people we serve.”
The activities of Airtel Touching Lives are recorded and produced for national television with a view to promoting the spirit of giving and love among Nigerians.
Following a successful and widely acclaimed two seasons of the programme, Airtel Nigeria, in September last year, announced the third season of the programme and, subsequently, received thousands of entries/nominations in the form of email, SMS and letters.
“Touching Lives” focuses on empowering, uplifting and creating opportunities for underprivileged people, communities and groups in the country.
NCC boss delivers UNN’s 46th convocation lecture tomorrow
The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, would be delivering a convocation lecture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, 2017.
Danbatta, a professor of telecommunications engineering, would present a paper at the 46th convocation with the title “The Role of ICT Infrastructure in Tertiary Education in Nigeria: NCC Interventions.”
According to the invitation letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Benjamin C. Ozumba, the lecture “is a major activity that marks the annual convocation ceremonies.”
Ozumba noted that the event has in the past featured lecture presentations by renowned Nigerians like former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, the late Prof. Dora Akunyili and Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, among others.
Danbatta, who presented the lecture of Nigerian Academy of Engineering in October 2016, was also the first CEO of the NCC to address the participants of the Senior Executive Course of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPS), Kuru, Plateau State, last year when he addressed the 38th Senior Executive Course, on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Since he assumed office, the NCC has continued to receive more global attention, with many international recognitions coming its way.
