The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has felicitated Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives on the occasion of his 50th birthday, describing him as one of the sharpest minds in the National Assembly.
In a birthday tribute, the Speaker said the golden milestone was “more than a birthday; it is a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate a journey already rich in accomplishment, service, and impact.”
Tajudeen noted that over four terms in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jibrin Kofa has brought a rare combination of intellectual depth, business experience, courage, and an unmistakable independence of mind to legislative work.
The Speaker highlighted the lawmaker’s leadership of key committees, including Finance, Appropriations, Land Transport, Foreign Affairs, and Housing and Habitat.
According to him, Kofa’s contributions reflect a strong grasp of public finance and a broad understanding of national affairs.
The tribute also referenced Kofa’s academic and professional background, which includes two PhDs, an MBA, executive education at leading institutions, as well as experience in business, academia, and service at the Federal Housing Authority.
Beyond credentials, the Speaker praised the celebrant for his forthrightness.
“But beyond the degrees, positions, and accomplishments is a man who has never been afraid to speak his mind. Abdulmumin is forthright. He is courageous. He is independent-minded. And he is never one to hide his convictions,” he said.
He added that such voices are vital to a healthy legislature where principled disagreement, robust debate, and legislators willing to speak for what they believe is right must be encouraged.
On behalf of the leadership and entire membership of the House, the Speaker wished Kofa “Good health, renewed strength, greater accomplishments and many more years of impactful service to your constituents and our dear nation.”
“May the next chapter be even greater than the first five decades,” the Speaker prayed.
