Things took a dramatic turn on Tuesday when members of the House of Representatives stormed out of a closed-door session.
Daily Sun reported that proceedings at the Nigerian Senate were temporarily suspended on Tuesday after lawmakers hit a stumbling block at Clauses 51–60, the section of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill dealing with the contentious issue of electronic transmission of election results.
A motion was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele for the chamber to enter a closed-door session, which was adopted in the afternoon.
A video uploaded online shows the moment infuriated members stormed out of the closed-door session, with chants of “APC Ole!”.
The above is obviously meant to spite the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in what could only be a fruitless meeting.
According to the video caption, those involved are members of the minority caucus.
