The House of Representatives adjourned its plenary session on Wednesday in honour of Olaide Akinremi, the late member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State.
Akinremi, who chaired the House Committee on Science Research Institutions, passed away earlier that morning at the age of 51, according to a statement by House spokesman, Akin Rotimi Jnr.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas informed the House of Akinremi’s death at the start of the session.
Following a minute of silence to pay respects to their departed colleague, the House adjourned until Thursday.
