Embattled Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma, has accused Governor Simon Lalong of being responsible for the inability to pay workers’ salaries in the council area.
He explained that he had secured six judgments against the state government, challenging the illegal and forceful termination of his tenure but the governor had deliberately refused to grant him access to the council secretariat to complete his one-year tenure.
Ubandoma said at a press briefing in Jos, yesterday, that he had written to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to pay the council workers but the government had refused to honour the request.
Ubandoma at whose instance the council’s account was frozen based on court judgments in his favour said he had written a letter for the release of funds to pay the workers’ salaries but the state government remained adamant.
“I am saying that Governor Lalong should release the salary of workers in Langtang North because the court has ordered for the release of the salary and I have given my consent to it,” he said.
