Officers of the Kano State Hisbah Board have foiled an attempt to traffic two young girls abroad.

The victims 16-year-old Zahra’u Audu from Zaria, Kaduna State, and 18-year-old Kalzihar Salim from Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State were rescued before they could be moved out of the state.

Deputy Commander General of Husbah Board, Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, confirmed the development in a voice statement.

He remarked that their intervention prevented the girls from falling into the hands of human traffickers.

He warned parents and guardians to be vigilant and actively monitor the activities and movements of their children, stressing that traffickers often target unsuspecting young girls for exploitation, including prostitution.

He added that the protection and moral upbringing of children remain a responsibility entrusted to parents by Allah urging communities to report any suspicious behaviour or movements that could put young people at risk.
