Today, we spotlight a remarkable professional whose multi-sector experience continues to make a difference across industries. Henry Emenike Okaro, a name steadily gaining recognition in both private and public service spaces, is a symbol of resilience, smartwork, and excellence in professional service delivery.
Henry Emenike Okaro is not your everyday professional. From geology to operations, and from sales to research administration, he has worn many hats — and worn them well. With over a decade of experience in strategic roles, his contributions continue to leave footprints across Nigeria’s professional landscape.
His career began as a student intern in 2009 as a Site Geologist at Noble Geoservices Limited in Awka, where he played a key role in underground water exploration through well design, construction and maintenance to provide water supply systems in southeastern part of Nigeria. From marking out areas for well construction to supervising treatments for sustainable water access, Henry’s technical proficiency was evident early on.
He went on to serve in a graduate internship role at Ogun State as a Research Administrator during his National Youth Service with Gateway Bitumen, under the Office of the Governor. There, he supported project evaluations, supervised contractors, and managed logistics — ensuring efficient and transparent operations in state-led initiatives.
In 2013, Henry Emenike Okaro joined Dragnet Solutions Limited in Lagos, where his leadership and operational skills came to the fore. First as a Field Verification Officer, he was responsible for authenticating student data for corporate and public sectors, scholarship programs and academic/employment verification of job seekers, ensuring that only authenticated and qualified candidates received support.
Later, as a Global Test Administrator, he coordinated computer-based testing nationwide, managing both logistics and external personnel. His role was crucial in maintaining the credibility and integrity of thousands of assessment processes used by top institutions and corporations.
By 2014, he advanced into the role of Sales Representative at the same company. There, he combined his operational know-how with strategic marketing, driving client acquisition and business development. Henry excelled at building strong relationships with clients and closing impactful deals.
Known for his ability to combine technical insight with business sense, Henry has conducted numerous product demonstrations and trainings for corporate clients. His professionalism, adaptability, and communication skills have made him a trusted figure among colleagues and clients alike.
Colleagues describe him as diligent, result-oriented, and deeply committed to excellence. Whether in a boardroom, a field location, or a training session, Henry Okaro brings a level of clarity and competence that inspires trust and delivers results.

For nearly a decade, Okaro has been at the forefront of scholarship project implementation for some of Nigeria’s largest corporations.
Between 2018 and 2022, he managed operations for the prestigious Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company’s National University Scholarship Award, ensuring seamless screening, testing, and selection processes that adhered to global standards. Similarly, he oversaw the Shell Petroleum Development Company Joint Venture University Award, furthering access to education for high-performing students from across the country.
Henry Emenike Okaro also led operational management for Nigerian LNG Limited’s undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships between 2020 and 2022. In a unique twist, he was instrumental in ensuring Dragnet’s success at being awarded the facilitation role for the NLNG Science Quiz Competition to promote STEM education in Rivers State. The competition was initially conducted in a manual and paper-based format.
But with Henry’s expertise in driving technological impact across different area, the science quiz was subsequently deployed using multiple tech-oriented solutions and software. He engineered the introduction of computer-based testing solution in organizing the company’s annual science quiz competitions in 2021 and 2022 — events that encouraged scientific excellence among secondary school students in Rivers State. This has gained the deserved accolades and ensured a sustained continuation of such event and similar programs due to the impact and success achieved
Another long-term project under his belt is the MTN Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, which he managed from as far back as 2014 through 2022. His leadership guaranteed transparency and consistency in the selection of hundreds of recipients every year, across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones. This led to an immediate delegation to oversee the three phases of MTN ICT and Business Skills Training launched in 2018 which is still MTN’s most impactful corporate social responsibility-CSR till date.
“Henry’s name may not always be seen, but if you’ve ever benefitted from a corporate scholarship in the last 10 years, chances are — he helped make it happen,” said a senior official from a partnering organization.
Among other high-impact projects Mr Okaro has managed are the Addax Petroleum Development Company’s Host Community and National Scholarships, the Midwestern Oil & Gas Scholarship Award, Lafarge’s Post-Primary Scholarships, and the AIG Scholarships for leadership and public sector transformation. Notably, he coordinated complex scholarship systems for international postgraduate awards by Nigerian Agip Exploration, and the Lagos State Scholarship Board — ensuring credibility and digital compliance throughout the process.

As companies invest in Nigeria’s future through scholarships and skill development, professionals like Henry make sure every process meets the highest standards.
