Henry Nwosu, other Ex- Internationals grace maiden Penafort Energy/PFC All Stars tourney

Former Super Eagles legends which includes Henry Nwosu, Friday Ekpo, Edema Foludu and host of others, yesterday, stormed the Post Service Football Club pitch, Ojo, Lagos to grace the maiden edition of Penafort Energy/PFC All Stars tourney.

The 12 teams tournament which was staged before club president, Simeon Emelifi, saw the host, PFC All Stars demolished Great Friends Football Club 4-1 after a classic opening ceremony.

Speaking during the occasion, club president, Simeon Emefili, described the opening match as a tip of iceberg while assuring forthcoming encounters will supersede the opener. The business icon turned philanthropist, hinted he derived pleasure seeing Nigerians coming together to showcase their talents on the field of play while describing football as a tool for nation’s unity.

“ It is to my great pleasure I welcome you all to this competition. As we all know football remains a major tool for nation’s building and unity promotion and I’m glad my club bank on the opportunity. This is a great achievement for the club which has been in existence for the past twenty years and I can assure you we’re planning to do more.”

“ I proudly describe this as a tip of iceberg compare to other great plans we have in offings. I urge you all to enjoy the game and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship as we venture into this soccer fiesta. We continue our mission to grow not just a team, but a legacy right here in the heart of Lagos.”

“ This season, we are focusing on three key areas: development, discipline, and delivery. We are investing in youth academies, upgrading our facilities, and fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the pitch,” he stated.

In a similar vein, ex Super Eagles star, Henry Nwosu applauded organizer of the competition while urging them to maintain the rule of the game.

“ I’m happy to be here today and I want to give kudos to the organizers. This is a top notch tourney and I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far in terms of facilities and officiating. I urge you all to keep the good work going,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, action is scheduled to continue today at the venue till curtain falls on the competition in four weeks time.
