Gbenga Hashim-Olawepo, a former presidential candidate, claims that Nigeria’s economy suffered greatly during the ten years of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government.
Hashim-Olawepo, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this statement on Wednesday in an interview with Channels Television’s “Politics Today” show.
He asserts that Nigeria’s GDP was higher 20 years ago, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo was stepping down, than it is today.
According to the politician, Nigeria was Africa’s top economy when former President Goodluck Jonathan handed over to Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, but it is now battling for fourth or fifth place, a situation he described as a disaster.
