Miffed by recent economic policies of President Ahmed Tinubu’s led Federal government in the past 3months and its effects on Nigerians, the king of six nations in Mekong River, HRH Eze Amb.Uzochukwu Jerome Ezeneche has joined his voice to that of other well meaning Nigerians in appealing to the President to employ other strategies that will help mitigate effect of removal of petroleum subsidy on Nigerians.
In a statement made available to the media and signed from his Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, HRH Amb Ezeneche said the sudden removal of the fuel subsidy without framework on how the impact on the masses would be cushioned has led to galloping inflation which has further impoverished Nigerians.
“The presidents decision to also allow the Naira to be subjected to dictate of the market forces has also made it difficult for international bussiness men and investors to plan as Naira is not stable on the international Foreign Exchange markets.
” For those of us in the Diaspora, the policies are also having negative effect in all our transactions as we are finding it difficult to cope with the downward plunge of the Naira against the dollar and other major currencies across the globe.
“It is against this background that I am calling on the president and his advisers to look inward and reverse these ugly trends .”
On insecurity, HRH Ezeneche ( Eze Nwatagwuoshimiri) lamented that insecurity in the South East and other parts of the country has worsened in recent months, adding that this trend makes it difficult for Nigerians abroad to invest in their home country.
” I am also hopeful that the presidential tribunal will do justice and declare its judgement so that whoever emerges victorious would be able to face the task of governance without distractions,” he said.
