Harry Kane to win 100th England cap today
Harry Kane is set to become the 10th player to earn a landmark 100 caps for England men when he captains the team against Finland at Wembley Stadium tonight.
The FA will pay tribute before the UEFA Nations League fixture with a special pre-match ceremony that will include the presentation of a gold cap.
Kane is the first player to become an England men’s centurion since Wayne Rooney reached the milestone in November 2014.
Kane, who is England men’s all-time top scorer with 66 goals in 99 internationals, made his debut in a 4-0 defeat of Lithuania on 27 March 2015, scoring just 79 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The Bayern Munich forward has made 86 starts for his country and been captain 72 times.
Finland will be the 45th different opponent he has faced during his England senior career.
During his nine-and-a-half-year international career, Kane has chalked up noteworthy appearance records.
He has played in more games at major finals than any other Englishman (28) and has played in more competitive matches (83) than any other senior men’s international.
