The Kaduna State chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Tuesday staged peaceful protest against socio-economic hardship in the country in accordance with the directive given by the national body of the Congress.

The State officials of the NLC and other affiliate unions took off as early as 9am from the Race Golf course road Secretariat of the NLC through the Independent Way to the gate of the Kaduna State House of Assembly complex.

The protesting crowd stopped momentarily at the Assembly gate without addressing any State government official, just as they walked back to the NLC secretariat, singing solidarity songs.

The protesting Unionists displayed various placards bearing different inscriptions such as “Let the poor breath”, “FG, must we all die before you know there is hardship”, An injury to one is an injury to all”, under the watchful eyes of police men and other plain clothes security operatives stationed at strategic places in Kaduna city.
