•Operatives rescue abducted 4 aliens, 2 cops

Gunmen last  Friday  shot dead two Chinese and a policeman at Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government , Abia State.

Abia State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Maureen Chinaka ,said,”on April 4, at about 5:30pm, some Chinese nationals were en route their company site at Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, with their police escort, when they were ambushed and attacked by unidentified armed men.

“During the attack, it was reported that the manager of the company, Quan and his colleague, Cai, together with Inspector Audu Saidu, one of the escort officers were killed.

“The gunmen reportedly carted away Inspector Saidu’s rifle.

“Chinaka disclosed that following a distress report received about the incident, the police in collaboration with the military and other sister security agencies, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Uturu, launched a search operation and successfully rescued four Chinese expatriates and two Police escorts.

“Upon receiving the information, operatives from Abia State Command, in a joint operation with the military and other sister agencies, launched a search mission. As a result, three Chinese expatriates were rescued unhurt, while one sustained injuries.

“Inspector Uba Ahmed, who was also rescued, suffered gunshot injury in his leg. Both the injured officer and the expatriate are currently receiving treatment at FMC, Abakaliki.”

The statement added that on Saturday, a tactical team operatives of the command, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), visited the crime scene as part of the ongoing search and rescue efforts.

“Through collaborative action involving the police, the military, and local community members, Inspector Ijeagwa Friday was also rescued unhurt”.

Bodies of the dead have been deposited in the morgue while the police said they have launched investigation into the incident.
