Gunmen have abducted the village head of Aujarawar Alkali community in Kano State, Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad.
Witnesses to the incident that happened on Thursday night told journalists that the attackers came with sophisticated weapons and left with him to an unknown destination.

A statement on Friday by the spokesperson to the Zannan Kano and district head of Jogana town, Mahi Isma’il, confirmed the abduction.
Isma’il, in the statement, appealed to security agencies to intensify rescue efforts, as well as presence to reinforce security in rural communities in the state. He also urged residents to stay calm, vigilant, and pray for his safe return.
As at the time of filing the report, the Kano State Police Command was yet to issue a statement over the incident.
