Guinness World Records: Film targets 50,000-person screening in Lagos

Nollywood film Black Market is set for a screening at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, on September 26, 2026, as part of an attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the largest number of people to screen a film in a single location.

The organisers said the screening will target 50,000 people, surpassing the existing record of 43,000 people.

Written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, Black Market was directed by Gimsay.

The film stars Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe.

Other cast members include Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Shamz Garuba and Adeoluwa Akintoba.

The screening is being organised in collaboration with Filmone Studios, Signet Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production.

The organisers said the event will be held in partnership with MTN, Puma, Swoop, PlaystreetNG, Oraimo, Shuttlers and the Lagos State Ministry of Culture.
