Ahead of the Labour Party (LP) primary, the Edo North senatorial leader of the party, Chris Ighodalo, has said Kenneth Imansuangbon joining the governorship race has given the party a boost and repositioned it for victory in 2024.
Ighodalo, while receiving the governorship hopeful in Auchi, Estako West Local Government Area, expressed optimism that LP remained the beautiful pride due to the influx of aspirants seeking to contest on its platform.
“A lot of aspirants are identifying with the Labour Party in Edo North today. Imansuangbon’s presence has changed the narratives in Edo State LP. Today, you can see that the way new converts are rushing into the political party is enormous.
“Everybody have been sleeping but with Imansuangbon everybody have woken up. He knows what the people want, he knows there is hunger in the land and that is why he has continued to share from the little he has to impact on the lives of the people.
At a private meeting, top leaders of the party from Edo North, unanimously expressed confidence in the ability of Imansuangbon to clinch the party’s ticket on account of his widespread popularity, philanthropic gesture, political experience, street credibility and financial war-chest.
Also in Etsako East, Etsako West and Esan South East, and Igueben local government areas of the state, it was carnival-like as Imansuangbon was received in jubilation by party faithful.
They praised his philanthropic gestures over the years and promised that the party and the people of Edo State will reward him for his show of love towards humanity as he seeks to govern the state in 2024.
The governorship hopeful used the meeting with party faithful to give out hundreds of bags of rice and cash donation to enable them celebrate the Christmas season.
His meeting with party faithful continues with Edo South senatorial district.
